In translation, Tai Chi Chuan means "Grand Ultimate Fist" and it rightfully deserves such a name. Tai Chi originated out of the Wu Tang Temple, and branched off into various styles that were carried down through the generations by certain families.
The system of Tai Chi practiced at Warrior Spirit is the Yang style. This does not refer to the yin and yang philosophy (although it is certainly taught) but rather the Yang family name. This particular family made Tai Chi popular due to their ability to use it for combat. All the traditional aspects of Tai Chi are taught: balance, co-ordination, flexibility, relaxed movement, meditation, chi kung (the movement of vital energy), breath control, sticky hands and self-defense applications.
