Based on the Shaolin Kung Fu program, Little Dragons gives kids the benefit of health, physical development and appropriate street proofing. The program also teaches the values of discipline, respect, leadership, concentration, and a positive moral outlook. The program is designed for children ages 6 to 12.
Warrior Spirit has been running kids' kung fu classes for several years now, and it has been to our delight, and to that of parents as well, that students stay more focused in school, are better behaved at home and also make a smooth transition from the kids class to the adult kung fu class. Through the program, children are taught to have an appreciation for authority figures such as parents, teachers, and the elderly.
The class offers a clear and logical structure for young students. Through the protocol, students are taught respect for both their instructors and their peers. The learning environment is safe and always kept clean. Students are supervised when in the studio and individual needs are met due to of the high teacher/student ratio.
The class is organized into various components, and each is intended to teach students various skills. Students' martial arts training involves drills, forms training, tumbling, games, and other activities. They have fun while developing their physical health, coordination and strength of character. A strong emphasis is placed on the responsibility that comes with martial arts training. Students are taught how to deal with bullies, and stay safe in dangerous situations.
Kids do not have to participate in any tournaments; however, if a child wishes to compete, then Warrior Spirit will train them and direct them to the appropriate events. In fact, through the kids' class, many students have gone on to win gold medals at competitions. The Little Dragons program is a great way for kids to develop a new skill that could save their lives, and release their energy in both a fun and positive way.
